30 day minimalism challenge

I came across The Minimalists a couple of years ago and learned about their 30-day minimalism game . Basically, you get rid of 1 item on the first day, 2 items on the second day, and continue until you've done this for 30 days. I tried doing this last year when I came across Marie Kondo's KonMari Method for decluttering and thought I could combine the two ideas. However, my attempt at trying to be efficient failed as I gave up after about a week or so. I still make continued efforts to be intentional about purchases I bring into the home, but a bigger challenge for me is the "just-in-case" items that I hold on to. I struggle with discarding these types of items as I don't want to contribute to unnecessary waste. Especially random items that usually can't be donated or resold. I suppose with practice, I will learn to distinguish between the "just-in-case" items and the "just-for-when" items. And with time, maybe those "just-for-when...
